Zong not only enables you to connect a mobile device to a broadband internet connection wirelessly and it also provides you with the ability to change the password of your device, to protect your data from hacking.
It is recommended to change your device’s password, after two months, to keep your data secure.
There are two kinds of passwords:
- Wi-fi password
- Interface password
Wi-fi password:
Wi-fi password is a “device password”. The device is being installed in one place, like houses, schools, banks, offices, and companies.
So, let’s jump into the procedure.
- Login to Zong device:
First of all, you need to connect your MBB device to your laptop or PC, and it will automatically open Zong device portal.
In case, the dashboard does not appear, then type the IP address “192.168.81”, into your browser, and it will automatically lead you to the main page.
Then, the page demands you to enter, the username and password respectively, and the built-in password and username is “admin”.
- Go to the WLAN setting:
Then, go to the “setting” present at the top of the web portal.
Then go to WLAN, > WLAN basic settings.
Now, put your new password at WPA pre-shared required fields. WPA pre-shared contains the new password.
Then, click on show password to confirm and check it, to avoid less probability of error.
Now, click on “Apply” to make sure that your password is changed.
Interface password:
This password is designated for the wingle, that comes handy anywhere and everywhere.
The password is changed for a reason if more than one device is being connected to the 4G portal device.
- The procedure changes a little bit.
- Following are the steps to be followed:
- First, go to settings on the top of the dashboard.
- Then, move on to “system”, and click modify password.
- Now, a page will appear, demanding necessary information like current password, new password, and confirm password.
- Enter “admin” in the current password.
- Now enter the new password and confirm the password in the respected field.
- It is recommended to have a strong password, in both cases, whether it is “device connected to the mainstream” or “Zong mobile bolt +”. The password must contain numbers, letters and characters.
- Then click on “apply “, to save the changes
