How to change the Gmail password?

Sometimes for security purposes, we need to change our Password. It’s a good thing to change the Gmail password regularly, once in a week or while. But non-professional users don’t prefer it.

So, to change the Gmail password for any use. Follow these simple steps to change it either on an android device or on your laptop, PC.

While changing Password on your phone device:

  1. Open Gmail on the phone or tablet.
  2. Tap the ≡ menu button.
  3. Scroll down and tap Settings.
  4. Select your Gmail account.
  5. Tap Manage your Google Account.
  6. Swipe left to the Security tab.
  7. Scroll down and tap Password.
  8. Enter the current password and tap Next.
  9. Enter a new password in the box.

Note: Make sure while changing Password, that your password contains at least 8 characters, Alphabets, numbers, and symbols.

  1. Enter the new Password into the ″Confirm new Password ″ blank.
  2. Tap CHANGE PASSWORD.

If you are using any browser, follow these steps to change the password of your Gmail account:

Change your Gmail Password on the browser:

  1. Open the Gmail inbox (first log in your account).
  2. Click on the profile photo at the top-right corner of the page after clicking a menu bar will appear.
  3. Click Google Account.
  4. Click Sign-in & security (In the box on the left side of the page).
  5. Scroll down to the ″Password & sign-in method″ part.
  6. Click Password.
  7. Enter the current password and click Next.
  8. Enter a new password in the box.

Note: Make sure while changing Password, that your password contains at least 8 characters, Alphabets, numbers, and symbols.

  1. Enter the new Password into the ″Confirm new Password ″ blank.
  2. Click on CHANGE PASSWORD.

If you want to change Password from direct into Gmail account, then follow these steps:

  1. Click the gear and choose Settings
  2. Click Accounts and Imports from the list at the top
  3. Click Change Password
  4. Enter current Password
  5. Enter the new password
  6. Confirm new password
  7. Click Change Password

After changing the Gmail password, make sure of other security regarding your digital life. Such as Two-step authentication, phone number verification, and recovery email for safety purposes.
