In December 2017, Tim Seifert set a record in a local Twenty20 cricket game in New Zealand. Playing for Northern Districts against Auckland, he scored 100 runs in just 40 balls. This was the fastest century in a game like this in New Zealand.

During the 2017-18 season of the Plunket Shield, a cricket competition, Seifert scored the most runs for Northern Districts. He made 703 runs in nine games. In June 2018, Northern Districts gave him a contract to play for them in the next season.

In July 2020, Tim Seifert joined the Trinbago Knight Riders team for the Caribbean Premier League. Later, in October 2020, he was chosen to be part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), replacing an injured player. However, he didn’t get to play in any matches that season. He stayed with Kolkata Knight Riders for the next season too, but the league was stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he couldn’t leave India right away because he got the virus.
