In 2018, the Chennai Super Kings chose him to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In March 2018, he got a special contract from Cricket South Africa for the upcoming season. In April 2019, he was chosen to be part of the team for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. On March 4, 2020, in a game against Australia, he did exceptionally well and set a record for being the fastest South African to take 50 wickets in ODI cricket.

In September 2021, he was picked for the South African team for the T20 World Cup. In July 2022, during a game against England, he achieved his first five-wicket haul in a T20 International game.
