High School Basketball Career

Frank Jackson shined in high school basketball. He spent a second year at Lone Peak after his first year at Utah’s Lehi High School. He helped his team win the Utah 5A state championship in 2014 with 17.9 points per game. Jackson improved in his junior year, averaging 26.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals. He was fourth-team MaxPreps All-American and first-team All-USA Utah. 

In August 2015, he scored 20 points and was named Co-MVP at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and Under Armour Elite 24 in New York City. He set a Lone Peak record with 54 points in one game. In his senior year, Jackson kept on shining. He scored 38 points against Miller Grove, 49 against St. Francis, and 32 against St. Joseph. Utah’s Mr. Basketball averaged 28.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. He was the Powerade Jam Fest Slam Dunk Champion and McDonald’s All-American Game Co-MVP. His high school career set a high bar for his future in basketball.

Junior Year

Frank Jackson’s Professional Basketball Career

New Orleans Pelicans (2017–2020)

Frank Jackson overcame hardships and grew with the New Orleans Pelicans from 2017 to 2020. The Charlotte Hornets drafted him 31st overall in 2017 and traded him to the Pelicans. His debut was delayed until 2018-2019 due to foot surgery. In his first summer league game in 2018, he scored 13 points but injured his ankle. He played quickly off the bench against the Rockets in his NBA debut. Jackson’s talents improved in 2019, scoring 17 and 25 points against the Grizzlies and Spurs, respectively. In late 2019, he scored 21 points against the Denver Nuggets and 23 against the Los Angeles Clippers, helping the Pelicans win.

Detroit Pistons (2020-2022)

His stay with the Detroit Pistons from 2020 to 2022 was brief but significant. Soon after signing with the Thunder in December 2020, he was dropped. He showed his potential on a two-way contract with the Pistons. He received a two-year extension from the Pistons in August 2021. The team rejected their option in June 2022, leaving Jackson without a contract. He joined the Suns on a non-guaranteed deal but was cut after two summer games.

Salt Lake City Stars / Utah Jazz (2022-2023)

With the Salt Lake City Stars for the 2022–2023 season, Jackson’s adventure progressed. He left a lasting impact and was selected for the G League’s Next Up Game. In February 2023, this performance earned him a 10-day deal with the Utah Jazz. Jackson returned to the Salt Lake City Stars to resume his career as a professional basketball player following this brief time with the Jazz.


Frank Jackson’s basketball career took a global turn in 2023 on July 7th when he signed with LDLC ASVEL, a well-known team in the EuroLeague and France’s LNB Pro A. With this transfer, he could show his skills on a European platform, a major turning point in his career. But he didn’t stay with ASVEL for very long. ASVEL made their decision to split ways with Jackson public by November 15th.
