Gates had no trouble in the classroom and enrolled at Harvard in 1973. Nobody close to Gates was surprised by this, given his enormous financial success and exceptionally high IQ (reportedly 160). There, he connected with Steve Ballmer. The two swiftly became fast friends.

Gates left Harvard after only two years and did not complete his education there.

Microsoft

Gates has spent his whole business career at Microsoft. After Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems hired Gates and Ballmer to create a BASIC emulator for the MITS in 1975, they decided to start their firm. Gates and Ballmer wrote the first emulator code, but as the business expanded, he took over as CEO. Despite this, Gates maintained a close relationship with the company’s computing programming, including coding video games as late as 1981.

Next, Microsoft and Gates would venture into operating system creation with IBM, teaming up with the business to code and license 86-DOS as the primary operating system for that software. Eventually, this would lead to the creation of Windows, a novel graphical operating system that would become Microsoft’s most lucrative product. Microsoft’s Windows has come a long way since the original edition’s publication in 1985; it is now widely considered the gold standard of computer operating systems.
