NEW - The Alsatian brand's latest supercar officially becomes the fastest vehicle in the world. On the Ehra-Lessien track in Germany, driver Andy Wallace reached 490 km / h behind the wheel of a modified Chiron.
The previous record of 431.072 km / h set in 2010 by a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has been shattered. The bar of 450 km / h has even been easily crossed. Record-breaking driver Andy Wallace, clocking 391 km / h in 1998 driving a McLaren F1, has just driven almost 100 km / h faster. It's not nothing.
It was on the same circuit in Lower Saxony that more than 20 years later, Wallace achieved yet another feat behind the wheel of a Bugatti Chiron specially prepared for the occasion. Validated by the TÜV, the new record is 490.484 km / h.
