Lahore High Court dismisses petition filed for a ban on ISPR drama 'Ehd E Wafa' being broadcast on TV.

In the Lahore High Court, Justice Shahid Waheed heard the case related to the drama.

It may be recalled that a law student named Mohammad Zeeshan had filed a petition in the court for a ban on 'Ehd E Wafa'.

Applicant Mohammad Zeeshan told the court that he is a resident of Malakand and is studying law in Lahore.

Describing his position, he said that the role of politicians, media, bureaucracy and the army was shown in the play while the role of politicians and media was being played.

During the hearing, the judge asked Muhammad Zeeshan to file the petition against the play which the applicant said he was saddened to see in the drama 'Ehd E Wafa'.

On this, Justice Shahid Waheed asked whether he approached PEMRA before filing an application in court.

Mohammad Zeeshan said that he had no hope of Pemra and that was why he approached the court.

After that, Justice Shahid Waheed declared the petition as unheard of and decided to reject it.

He remarked that applicants should apply to PEMRA first and if there is no hearing they can refer to the court.
