Indian channel Zee TV has announced to broadcast Pakistan's most popular drama serial "Zindagi Gulzar Hai". Zee TV did this while sharing the video of 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' on its social media accounts. The Indian channel said in its post that the drama will be aired every Saturday and Sunday from June 5 at 12 noon to 2 pm Indian time.
Earlier, Zindagi was aired on Zee-Zindagi, a channel introduced by Zee TV for Pakistani, Turkish, and Indian serials. However, due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India, the broadcasts were suspended following a ban on Pak-India cooperation. Now produced under the direction of Sultana Siddiqui, the drama, based on a story written by Umairah Ahmed, has become available to Indian audiences.
The serial is considered to be the most successful drama after 'Humsafar' and is also available on the streaming site Netflix. However, Mikaal Zulfiqar has expressed his displeasure over the announcement of airing the drama on Zee TV. Commenting on a post on an entertainment social media account, he demanded royalties for the artists. Mikaal Zulfiqar wrote that give royalties to artists, they are running dramas for free.
It may be recalled that Mikaal Zulfiqar had questioned the re-broadcast of the drama in March for not giving any financial benefit to the actors. Mikaal Zulfiqar shared a screenshot of "Diyar-e-Dil" in his Instagram story on March 17 and lamented that despite 'Diyar-e-Dil' being repeated several times, the people who made the drama a success is of no use. After him, actress Naila Jaffery, Sakina Simmons, Sami Khan, Ali Zafar, and many other actors demanded royalties for re-broadcasting the dramas. 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' was aired on the private channel Hum TV in 2012 in which Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed played the lead roles.
