Uber introduces delivery service in Pakistan

Ride-Sharing Service Uber has introduced its delivery service in Lahore and Islamabad for the first time in Pakistan.

The company says the service has been introduced to support millions of Pakistanis confined to their homes during the new Novel Coronavirus outbreak.

According to a statement issued by the company, in view of the security measures in respect of COVID-19 in various cities of Pakistan, there is a great need for the delivery of rations, medicines and other essential goods to home-bound citizens.

For this purpose, Uber Delivery is making delivery possible to the homes of orders through the partner driver of the ride-sharing service.

The move said that the move would also provide an opportunity for drivers to become economically distressed in the current situation.

The company will ensure that safety and sanitation measures are taken to protect these drivers.

These steps shall be in accordance with the guidelines issued by the local administration and the availability of the delivery service will also depend on administrative permission.

Uber Pakistan's general manager said that the Uber delivery option is being provided in the app to deliver basic necessities to the homes during this difficult time, we want to provide some convenience to the people with our services and to prevent the virus.
