Twitter Introduces the "Views" Feature.

Posted on Dec 27, 2022

Twitter, a popular microblogging platform, has quietly added a 'views' function that counts how many times each post has been viewed.

Previously, Twitter's "views" feature only applied to videos; that is, information about who watched specific videos could be accessed, but now every tweet will be known about who viewed or read it.

Elon Musk announced introducing the 'Views' feature in his tweet, after which the feature was turned on for users' accounts worldwide.

Before the comments section of every tweet is an icon labelled "Views," which displays the number of people who have viewed the tweet.

The above function displays the total number of times the tweet was viewed, but it cannot confirm how many people read it.

Elon Musk, while announcing the introduction of the said feature, said that usually, 90 percent of people on Twitter read the tweet that appears on their screen but does not like it.

According to him, people read the tweet but do not comment on it or retweet it.

In another short tweet, Elon Musk said that every tweet is 100% more viewed and read than receiving likes or comments, but people don't express it.

Earlier, under the Tweet Analytics feature on Twitter, users could find out the impressions, engagement, profile visits and the number of people following the tweet on their tweets.

The Tweet Analytics feature is available to all users, and each user can access their analytics.
