Bill Gates Steps Down from Microsoft's board of directors
Microsoft, the world-renowned technology company, has announced that Bill Gates, one of the company's co-founders and the world's richest, has stepped down from the board of directors to focus more on welfare.
According to the French news agency AFP, 64-year-old Bill Gates abandoned his daily routine a decade ago to focus on the foundation's work, along with his wife, Melinda.
Bill Gates continued to serve as chairman of Microsoft's board of directors until 2014 and is now completely separated from every Microsoft.
"It's been an honor to work with Bill Gates over the years and to learn from them," said Satya Nadella, chief executive of Microsoft.
He said Bill Gates founded the company with a belief in the power of access to software and the solution to the challenges facing society.
Bill Gates will continue to serve as a technical advisor and Microsoft will continue to benefit from their technical enthusiasm and mentorship, Satya Nadella said.
"I am very grateful to Bill Gates for his friendship and I look forward to working with him," he said.
It should be noted that Bill Gates resigned from the position of chief executive officer in 2000 to give more time to his welfare organization, which was replaced by Steve Ballmer.
He also retired as chairman of Microsoft in 2014 and at that time Satya Nadella became the company's third chief executive officer.
Remember that Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 with Paul Allen.
Along with two sisters, she grew up in Seattle, her father was an attorney, while her mother was a teacher at school.
Bill Gates has been fond of computing since he was 13 years old, and after leaving Harvard, he founded Microsoft.
