Plot

The film, directed by Frank Darabont, is set in 1947 and revolves around two prisoners: Andy Dafrens (Tim Robinson), a banker convicted of murdering his wife and acquaintance. During his stay in prison, he befriends another inmate, Alice Boyd Redding (Morgan Freeman). At the same time, he protects himself from the guards when the prison warden begins to use him for money laundering operations.

For 19 years, Andy tries to get out of prison and finally escapes and then breaks into a money laundering case. Forty years later, his friend is released on payroll and goes to Mexico to discover Andy. Friends get together again. There is a lot of suspense and suspense in this story, and it is a film that, whenever it is seen, seems to be seen for the first time, and that is why it has been declared one of the ten best films in history.
