The number of AIDS patients in Pakistan exceeds to 37,000
Islamabad: AIDS disease is spreading rapidly in Pakistan, the number of AIDS patients in the country has exceeded 37,000.
Punjab is leading with 17,790 patients in AIDS-affected provinces, while Balochistan has at least 1,410 people suffering from AIDS. According to the document, AIDS disease is on the rise in the country.
The highest number of registered AIDS patients in the country is 17,790 patients in Punjab. The number of AIDS patients in Sindh is 10 thousand 931, Islamabad 3 thousand 717, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3 thousand 360 and Balochistan 1 thousand. 104 people are suffering from AIDS disease, 2951 AIDS-infected patients are registered at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad. Rawalpindi CMH has 157 registered and 609 patients registered at Benazir Hospital.
There are 2548 registered patients at Mayo Hospital in Lahore, 1983 at Jinnah Hospital, 494 at Shaukat Khanum, Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital 2058 in Gujarat and 837 in Karachi. There are 2366 registered patients at the Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 494 at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, 500 in DHQ Kohat.
