Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was severely criticized across the country in March this year when he used vulgar language against well-known social activist Marvi Sarmad during a TV program.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had used vulgar language against Marvi Sarmad during a discussion on the Women's March on the night of March 3, 2020, on the private TV program 'Aaj Ayesha Ehtesham Ke Saath'.
Speaking live on the program, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had used highly inappropriate language against Marvi Sarmad, including calling her a 'bad woman' and had also given her 'body taunts'.
After the same program, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was severely criticized and rallies were held against him in different cities.
A few days after the interview, some clips of Khalil-ur-Rehman's interview with a journalist went viral on social media, in which the playwright could be seen and heard running over the journalist.
In the short videos, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar's manner of speaking was very aggressive and he was seen running when asked by a journalist.

It could be seen in the video that when the journalist asked the playwright that he is very popular and a lot of people like his dialogues, wouldn't they feel bad when they see this attitude of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar?
As can be seen in the video, the playwrights lost their temper at the same question as to the journalist and they started abusing him and at the same time asked him to turn off the camera.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was also severely criticized for his inappropriate behavior with the journalist and later the journalist approached the court on the issue of insulting the playwright.
Journalist Farrukh Shahbaz Warraich had filed a defamation suit against Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in the civil court of Lahore, the capital of Punjab. His plea was heard in the court on March 8 and the court issued notice to the playwright to file a reply.
In the case filed by journalist Farrukh Shahbaz Warraich, it was said that after the incident of Khalil-ur-Rehman's obscene language with Marvi Sarmad, the playwright was interviewed and during the interview, Khalil-ur-Rehman lost his temper.
The petition said that the playwrights lost their temper when asked a proper question and instead of answering the question, they started abusing the journalist in front of the camera and threatened to turn off the camera.
The petition filed by the journalist said that Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar also launched a campaign against him on social media and after this campaign, he started receiving death threats.
Shahbaz Warraich has claimed in the lawsuit that his reputation was damaged due to Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar using inappropriate language against him and threatening him.
The petitioner requested the court to order Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar to pay Rs 5 crore fine.
Nasir Chauhan Advocate appeared on behalf of the journalist during the brief hearing in the Civil Court and after a brief hearing, the court issued notices to the playwright to file a reply by May 17 and adjourned the hearing till May 17.
