The Islamabad High Court Refused request to return Pakistani pilgrims trapped in Iran

The Islamabad High Court dismissed the petition filed to bring back the stranded Pakistani pilgrims in Iran, saying it was unheard of.

Chief Justice of the Federal Capital Court Athar Minnallah heard the petition filed by the Majlis Unity Muslim (MWM) for the return of the stranded pilgrims to Iran.

During the hearing, the lawyer was told by the court that hundreds of such visitors have been trapped in Iran and Iraq whose visas have expired.

On this, Chief Justice Athar Minnallah said that this is a policy matter and the court cannot interfere in it. You should contact the executive authority.

He remarked that to conclude that the government was not doing anything wrong, the lawyer said that the court could ask the government about the persons whose visas have been expired, to which the Chief Justice Athar Minnallah said. That the Foreign Ministry is looking into this matter.

On this occasion, the Chief Justice of the High Court asked if the applicant had approached the Foreign Ministry, to which the lawyer replied that no, we did not approach the Foreign Ministry.

However, the petitioner's lawyer said that the media is being given the impression that all the problems are due to the visitors, to which the Chief Justice said that the court will not get into any dispute.

Later, the court dismissed the petition as untenable.

It is to be noted that the petition filed by the Islamabad High Court yesterday was made a favor by the federal government, the interior ministry, the foreign ministry, the defense ministry, and the chairman Pemra.

It was held in the petition that thousands of Pakistani pilgrims have been trapped in Iran whose visas have expired or are about to expire, visas have been issued to visitors but now they are not allowed to return to Pakistan ۔

The applicant had said that a private TV channel program attempted to paint the issue sectarian.
