Taylor Swift Won the Best Singer of the Year Award for the Sixth Time

Taylor Swift, a 30-year-old American pop singer, has been named Artist of the Year for the third year in a row and for the sixth time overall at the American Music Awards (AMA), a US annual musical awards.

Taylor Swift received a total of four nominations at this year's American Music Awards, of which she won three. Although Taylor Swift was not available online at the virtual event in Los Angeles on November 22, she still managed to win a total of three awards, including a major one, according to Reuters.

Taylor Swift won the Artist of the Year award for the third time in a row this year, while for the sixth time overall, she also became the first singer to win the award six times. Last year, Taylor Swift broke the record of the late singer Michael Jackson by winning a total of 6 awards at the American Music Awards and she became the first singer to win 29 American Music Awards last year. This year, Taylor Swift was awarded in the categories of Best Singer of the Year, Best Female Pop Singer, and Favorite Music Video.

Canadian-American singer Justin Bieber also received three awards at the awards ceremony, two of which he won jointly with the musical band Dan Plus. Justin Bieber was also named Best Pop Male Singer. At the awards ceremony, South Korean musical band BTS won 2, Canadian musician The Weekend won 3, singer Doja Kate won 2, Lady Gaga won 1, Cardi B won 1, Dua Lipa won 1, Nikki Manaj won 1 and Jones Brothers won 1.

Due to Corona, the awards ceremony was held online, in which some artists performed live, while some singers recorded performances. The American Music Award is considered to be the most important music award after Grammy.
