Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal met Prime Minister Imran Khan

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud met Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Prime Minister's House where bilateral relations and regional issues were discussed, including the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the field of Kashmir.

Referring to Saudi Arabia's visit to Saudi Arabia in February 2019, he said that it highlights the importance of mutual cooperation between the two countries in different fields.

Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the growing economic ties between the two countries and Saudi Arabia's commitment to invest in various sectors, especially petrochemicals, minerals and renewable energy.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that the team of Saudi Arabia will visit Pakistan soon to assist in the improvement of the tourism sector as per the schedule of meeting during the recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted the human tragedy and human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He also highlighted India's discriminatory citizenship amendment law (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), under which the Indian government is systematically targeting minorities, especially Muslims.

Imran Khan said India's aggressive measures on the Line of Control (LoC) are exacerbating tensions and regional peace and stability have been at stake.

He emphasized that the international community should play a role in protecting the rights and rights of Kashmiris, facilitating the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir and taking steps to protect minorities in India.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's House, Saudi Foreign Minister Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Wali Ehd Muhammad bin Salman conveyed a message of good wishes to the Pakistani people and leadership and praised Pakistan's efforts for regional peace and stability.

Stressing on the importance of friendly relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, he reiterated the Saudi leadership's commitment to further strengthening friendly relations and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud also reaffirmed his commitment to increasing cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, energy and tourism.

He also reaffirmed the urgent cooperation of Pakistan on important national issues where the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jammu and Kashmir was discussed.

This was the first visit to Pakistan after Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan took over as Saudi Foreign Minister, and during the visit, both sides pledged to maintain high-level contacts, promote closer co-operation on bilateral issues and regional issues.

After a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Saudi Foreign Minister's one-day visit was completed and he returned to Saudi Arabia.
