Saudi companies will not fire Pakistanis for the next three months

ISLAMABAD: The Saudi government has announced that it will stop local companies from firing Pakistani workers for the next three months.

In a video link with Zulfi Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Saudi Minister of Manpower Abdullah bin Nasir has announced that Saudi companies will not lay off Pakistani workers for the next three months. All employees will continue to be paid for 3 months. Employees who have been fired so far will also be assisted. Full remuneration and payment of dues will be ensured to Pakistani workers.

The Saudi minister said that the extension of visas for Pakistani workers would be absolutely free till December. In addition, Saudi Arabia announced to extend the duration of entry and exit visas and also to provide free STCP facility for sending money to Pakistan.

Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari thanked the Saudi Minister for assuring full cooperation. During the contacts with the Saudi Minister, the two countries also discussed the commencement of flight operations and agreed to continue contacts in difficult situations.

Zulfi Bukhari said that they want to fulfill all the needs of their compatriots in difficult times. Saudi officials have also been asked to increase cooperation with Pakistani workers and take special measures for the repatriation of Pakistanis. We want to meet the needs of all kinds of compatriots at a difficult time.
