Saudi Arabia imposes new conditions on car buying
Riyadh: The Saudi government has enacted a law for foreigners buying cars, according to which a car buyer must already have a driving license.
According to details, a Saudi Arabian traffic police spokesman asked on a social networking site Twitter that he wants to buy a car with his wife's name, does it is necessary to have wife's driving license?
To which the spokesperson replied that it is not necessary for any Saudi citizen to have a driving license to buy a car, but it is forbidden for a foreigner that he cannot buy the vehicle on his name unless he has a valid driving license of Saudi Arabia.
On the other hand, when contacted to the Showrooms administration, they said that foreigners must have a driving license to create a vehicle ownership document, while foreigners whose families have less than five people. A family van or seven-seat car is forbidden for them.
