Quetta Gladiators has added Anwar Ali to the squad, replacing Umar Akmal,

Pakistan Super League franchise Quetta Gladiators has added Anwar Ali to the squad, replacing Umar Akmal, suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended middle-order batsman Umar Akmal for violating anti-corruption laws, which will prevent him from joining the Pakistan Super League.

Umar Akmal was immediately suspended under Section 4.7.1 of the PCB's Anti-Corruption Code and cannot participate in any cricketing activity until the investigation is completed.

After Umar Akmal's suspension, the Quetta Gladiators team management sent 8 players to the Pakistan Cricket Board as their replacement.

Of the eight players, all-rounder Anwar Ali has been added to the Quetta Gladiators squad in place of Umar Akmal, who has previously represented the Gladiators in the PSL.

PSL's technical committee has approved the name of Anwar Ali as a replacement.

The Technical Committee, headed by PCB Chief Executive Waseem Khan, approved the name of Anwar Ali, which includes Dr Sohail Saleem, Sameer Khosa, Marina Iqbal and Bazaid Khan.

In the fifth edition of the PSL, Anwar Ali has been selected as the alternate cricketer in the Silver category and before that Anwar Ali has represented Quetta Gladiators in all the PSL editions.

Anwar Ali has scored 191 runs in 32 games in PSL so far and has taken 23 wickets.

Remember that Pakistan Super League will start today with a colourful opening ceremony followed by defending champions Quetta Gladiators and two-time champions Islamabad United teams at 9 pm at the National Stadium in Karachi in the first match.
