Prince Faisal bin Farhan says Turkey's intervention must end in Syria

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan says the only solution to the conflict in Syria is negotiations, while Turkey's intervention must end there.

At a meeting of the Arab Parliament in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that his country values the unity, sovereignty and protection of the Arab states and will not accept any such intervention, Arab News reported. The stability of Arab countries is at risk.

Referring to Yemen, he said Saudi Arabia has given $ 1.5 billion to help the Yemeni people.

He called on the international community to condemn attacks in Houthi rebels' airports and residential areas in Saudi Arabia.

It should be noted that in recent months, tensions between Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been on the rise.

Turkish forces and its proxies launched an operation against Kurdish forces in northern Syria last October.

Ankara believes that the YPG is a sub-terrorist organization of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has been trying to revolt in Turkey since 1984.

The military action came from Turkey after US President Donald Trump ordered a military withdrawal from Syria.
