People's Party expresses reservations over the financial crisis of the state universities

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed serious concerns over the financial crisis facing the state government due to a reduction in the budget of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) by the government.

In a statement, Chairman PPP "condemned" the huge reduction in the higher education budget, forcing government universities to borrow from the budget sector to carry out their affairs.

He said that 104 universities are facing the worst financial crisis in their history and the 'puppet government' is not ready to allocate half of the budget required of Rs 100 billion.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that some prominent universities of the country, including the University of Peshawar, were not paying their staff salaries while research and higher education were being neglected.

"The puppet government has destroyed the country's economy under the nose of its selectors, millions of people have been pushed down the poverty line, rising prices and inflation are touching the sky, unemployment is under control," he said in the statement. And the country is being dragged into economic, social and political swamp. '

He demanded immediate funding of government universities to provide them with the funds they needed to operate normally and expressed solidarity with the students, teachers and staff at the crisis.

On the other hand, PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb said in a statement that the only solution to oust the country from the economic crisis is that Prime Minister Imran Khan should resign.

He said that now only Imran Khan's resignation can pull the country out of one crisis and economic catastrophe. If Imran has a little sympathy for the poor and troubled Pakistanis, he will have to give up his own and Confessing your worthlessness and disqualification, you have to step down for the welfare of the people.

He added that 'the circus of dramas and lies will make the country more devastated than repaired.

Maryam Aurangzeb regretted that despite an early warning from the PML-N, the Prime Minister did not search the mills of Minister for Defense Khusro Bakhtiar and former PTI Secretary General Jehangir Tareen. Because of this, they found time to stockpile, break records and hide their corruption and crime.
