Pakistani woman arrested in Saudi Arabia, allowed to send 4-year-old girl back home

Islamabad: A 4-year-old baby of Swat woman who was arrested in Saudi Arabia for heroin trafficking will be sent to Pakistan today. The woman is likely to be sentenced to life imprisonment or a death sentence.

According to details, Swat resident Rani Bibi was arrested in Saudi Arabia for heroin trafficking and is likely to be sentenced to life imprisonment or death sentence in Jeddah.

Rani Bibi left Jeddah with a 4-year-old girl in May 2019, Saudi authorities arrested her when a heroin filled capsule was recovered at the Jeddah airport.

Special Assistant Zulfiqar Bukhari and the Ministry of Overseas contacted the Saudi authorities on the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan, after which 4-year-old Iman was allowed to bring to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

Iman was transferred to the Social Protection Department after her mother was jailed. Now the farewell meeting was held with the mother in Jeddah jail and she was handed over to Pakistani authorities.

Iman will arrive in Pakistan from Jeddah at 9 pm tonight. Faith will be handed over to her uncle at the Peshawar airport.

Special Assistant Zulfiqar Bukhari has directed the authorities to provide complete care for the child, fulfil the educational needs and provide a better environment.
