Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 5 has been postponed due to the rising Corona virus in the country.
According to sources, both the semi-finals of today's event in the wake of the Corona virus by PCB and the finals to be held tomorrow (March 18) have been canceled.
Later, in a brief citation from the Pakistan Cricket Board, it was stated that HBLPSL 2020 has been postponed, it will be rescheduled later and more details will be released later.
It may be recalled that earlier in view of the threat of Coronavirus, the playoff phase in PSL Season 5 was eliminated till the semi-finals and the final on March 22 was also made on March 18.
Talking about Coronavirus cases in the country, Sindh is the most affected province where the number of patients has reached 150, followed by 15 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 10 in Balochistan.
Apart from this, there have been 2 confirmed cases of Corona virus in Punjab province while 2 cases have been reported in Islamabad and 5 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Corona virus, which has spread around the world, has been affected by various sports and its impact on PSL Season 5.
The Corona virus was first decided to hold PSL matches in the Sindh capital Karachi from March 13, and later in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, without matches.
In addition, the PSL was rescheduled and its last matches in Karachi were shifted to Lahore and both semifinals and finals were to be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
If you talk about the top 4 teams of PSL who reached the semi-finals, it included the Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi.
It should be remembered here that this was the first time in the history of Pakistan Super League that the Lahore Qalandars team had reached the knockout stage of any season.
In the PSL, the first semi-final was scheduled between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi, while the second semi-final was scheduled between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.
