Pakistan slams new Indian Army Chief for irresponsible remarks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday rejected irresponsible statements of Lt. Gen. Manoj Mukund Narwana, the new head of the Indian Army, for "non-emotional attacks".

The Foreign Office rejected the Indian Army Chief's statement, saying that Pakistan was fully able to respond to any Indian aggression in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi about the attack in Balakot last year. Islamabad's proper response should not be forgotten.

FOA spokeswoman Ayesha Farooqi said Pakistan would continue its efforts for peace and stability in the region despite India's provocations. He further said that the demand for self-determination of the Kashmiri people was justified and was by the UN resolutions.

The spokesman said that India should allow international observers to visit occupied Kashmir.

In an interview to Lieutenant General Narawani, Press Trust of India (PTI), a day before and just after taking over as the new Chief of India's New Army Staff (COAS). Said New Delhi reserves the right to "strike immediately using terrorism" and had "several options ... any terrorist act in Pakistan's patronage or revenge. "To answer ".

He had said that India had "devised a strategy to respond to a horrendous punishment against sponsored terrorism".

Lieutenant General Narawani's comments were similar to that of his predecessor, General Bipin Rawat, who was appointed India's first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) on Tuesday. General Rawat had defamed Pakistan in October last year.

Separately, Prime Minister Imran Khan said last week that Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had assured him that the country's Army was "ready for India" in the event of an attack on Azad Kashmir.

"I am telling you now, [Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi] will use [demonstrations in India] to do something in Azad Kashmir. I informed General Bajwa about this, and he told me. That the Pak Army is ready for India, "he said.

PM Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi have warned of the possibility of an Indian flag operation in recent days.

The Pakistani leadership believes that India may have been involved in a military misunderstanding to divert attention from its anti-Muslim policies and that it has well recorded the atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
