NAB approach Supreme Court for cancellation of Hamza Shahbaz's bail

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) approached the Supreme Court against the bail approval of the PML-N vice president Hamza Shahbaz in the Ramadan Sugar Mills reference.

In an appeal filed by NAB for the cancellation of Hamza Shahbaz's bail in the Supreme Court, his application was declared bail unopposed.

The appeal stated that Hamza Shahbaz's request was not a bail hearing and his case did not come to hardship.

The NAB said that the Lahore High Court's bail decision would affect the trial of the observations.

At the same time, the accountability agency appealed to the Supreme Court through its request to revoke Hamza Shahbaz's decision.

It may be recalled that on February 6, 2020, the Lahore High Court had granted bail to Hamza Shahbaz, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and PML-N leader in the Ramadan Sugar Mills Reference Case.

Ramadan Sugar Mills Case

It should be noted that on February 18, 2019, the National Accountability Bureau filed a new reference in the Ramadan Sugar Mills case against the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his son, the provincial assembly Hamza Shahbaz.

Only two accused were named in this reference and it was alleged that they illegally built a canal for Ramadan Sugar Mills.

The reference filed in the court stated that the construction of the drainage by Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz caused loss of Rs.

The Lahore Accountability Court on April 9 last year imposed a charge on Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz, President of Pakistan Muslim League-N, in the Ramadan Sugar Mills Reference.
