Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani rejected BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly's statement regarding hosting the Asia Cup and said that no decision has been made regarding the Asia Cup venue.
Saurav Ganguly, president and former cricketer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, had said that the schedule for the Asia Cup this year will be Dubai, but the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board says no decision has been made yet.
Pakistan has the rights to host the T20 Asia Cup in September this year but the Indian team is not ready for Pakistan due to the uncertainty of the event being held in Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani said that Asia Cup is held for the benefit of Associate Members, we will take that into consideration, the final decision will be taken in the interest of all Asian countries. We will have a few options.
The Asian Cricket Council meeting will be held in Dubai on March 3, with both Ganguly and Mani possibly present and a final decision on the Asia Cup host country is expected during the meeting.
Earlier, Sourav Ganguly had said that the next Asia Cup venue would be Dubai.
The BCCI president had said that the Asia Cup will be held in Dubai and both India and Pakistan will play.
Remember that India had the rights to host the last Asia Cup, but due to tension in Pakistan, the event was also hosted by Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
