Introducing the Google Bolo app to help children learn the language

Google has shared the initial access to its new app Read Aloud app for Android, which is designed to help children 5 years of age and older read.

This app can be downloaded from Play Store in Pakistan under the name Bolo which will help them to speak Urdu and English.

In this app, image stories such as image feedback are heard aloud and children are encouraged to repeat sentences.

The app is part of Google's efforts to help students affected by school closures to stay mentally engaged and learn.

The app features a reading friend named dia, which uses Google's text-to-speech and speech recognition technologies to determine how hard a child is reading.

Dia gives positive feedback throughout the session and the child can click on Dia for help at any time to hear the pronunciation or sentence of a word.

The app contains stories from around the world, as well as games through which children can earn stars and badges, and parents can create a separate profile for each child so that their progress can be monitored by clicking on a picture.

There are no purchases or ads in this app and no sign in, just download the app and stories that will work offline.

The app was first introduced in India last year and now parents in Pakistan can also use it, which supports 9 languages including English, Urdu, Spanish, and Hindi.
