Increase Pakistan's support for anti-polio
ISLAMABAD: The World Health Organization (WHO) has increased its cooperation with Pakistan for anti-polio, Dr Palitha Mahi Pala, head of the World Health Organization (WHO), said during a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
According to details, Dr Palitha Mahipala, Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Pakistan, reached the Foreign Ministry where he met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Dr Plitha presented his diplomatic credentials to the Foreign Minister, who said that the World Health Organization further enhanced cooperation with Pakistan for anti-polio.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the complete eradication of polio in Pakistan is in the government's priorities, and that the government is taking steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The Foreign Minister further said that there is a thermal scanner at the airports and quarantine facility at the border points.
It should be noted that in a statement earlier, Dr. Palitha mahipala had said that a better way of diagnosing the coronavirus in Pakistan is working so is no need to panic.
Dr. Palitha said that Pakistan's government had already taken steps to prevent the virus and has fully prepared to deal with it.
He further said that the steps taken by Pakistan have not been seen by any other country before.
