Important and major decisions are expected today at Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan
Islamabad: Federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan is likely to make important decisions, the meeting will decide on Hajj expenditure this year and Hajj policy will be approved in 2020 while major announcement expected on reducing food commodity prices.
According to details, a meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan will be held today. The meeting has been made a 14-point agenda.
The Cabinet meeting will approve Hajj Policy 2020 and this year will also decide on Hajj expenditure. After approval of the Cabinet, the Minister of Religious Affairs will announce the Hajj expenditure.
The Ministry of Defense will present a summary to cabinet meeting for approval while the meeting will be approached to approve the final results of the sixth census and briefing on the international conference on the issue of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. A global conference on Afghan refugees will be held in Islamabad on February 17 and 18.
The summary relating importation of statues from India and amendment in import and export policy order 2016 and deployment of the Human Organ Transplant Authority Administrator are on the agenda.
Federal Cabinet will also be given a briefing on investment, while the meeting will ratify the ECC's January 20, February 4 decisions and the Cabinet Privatization Committee decisions on February 4.
The cabinet meeting will review the political situation in the country while the appointment of a chairman of the Export Processing Zones Authority is also included in the cabinet agenda.
Sources say that the Prime Minister will also formulate a policy on the consumption of foods in the cabinet and the meeting will have a lot to do with reducing food prices while a significant announcement on lowering food commodity prices is expected.
According to sources, the cabinet meeting will also discuss increasing the number of utility stores and sharing of the sentiment program while the cabinet will be informed about the progress of the investigation on wheat flour crisis.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit the federal cabinet regarding the visit of Malaysia, while negotiations, demands and memorials from allies will be held and the issue of resolution on the punishment of the accused of excessive child abuse will also be discussed.
