Tum ho Wajah is a Pakistani romantic-revenge drama television series aired on Hum TV on 20 April 2020. Produced by Momina Duraid under MD Productions, the series starring Savera Nadeem, Shahood Alvi, Sumbul Iqbal, Saboor Aly, Ali Abbas, and Shehzad Sheikh is an intense story of love and revenge.
The cast leading and supporting both consists of our household names including Sumbul Iqbal, Shehzad Sheikh, Saboor Aly, Noor Ul Hassan, and the senior actress of Pakistan Television Industry Sawera Nadeem. The play appears to have sub-plots supporting the main plot unlike many other dramas revolving around the single main plot of the play carrying the burden of expectations. Each character seems to have its importance giving weight to the storyline. Out of all the characters, the most interesting and to be looked forward to is the character of the mother being played by Sawera Nadeem. Another one is that of Sumbul Iqbal as the audience misses watching her often. The character she is playing is rebellious and fierce which is so unlike what the audience has watched Sunmbul play.
The OST is composed by Waqar Ali on lyrics of Sabir Zafar and sung by Faiza Mujahid and Waqar Ali.
Drama Serial Tum ho Wajah's story is too interesting because this story vibes are very similar to the real-life situations of young girls and boys. The drama serial is an intertwined story of Mansoor Ahmed, Ghafoor, and Mansoor’s younger brother Murad Ahmed’s families. Mansoor Ahmed’s wife Sahiba, daughters Chanda and Sitara and sons Zain and Babar are a closely-knit, typical happy middle-class family. Things seem to be working for the family until Chanda makes a terrible mistake that not only shatters everyone but opens the family to a bizarre web of lies and deceit by people with sinister plans and personal grudges.
The opening scene of the play is a vision Sitara is seeing, where she is dressed as a bride is running then she is being stopped by a man in a turban. Then there is an introduction of a home. A family is introduced where there are a loving and caring mother and a hard-working father, Sitara their daughter who is a great helping hand and the youngest son. Then there are two more family members Chanda who is spoiled by her father and a brother who is trying to run his own business.
Chanda is in kind of relationship with Shabby who seems to be a loafer kind of guy and his family is also not shown decent. Chanda does not help in household chores instead she always throws tantrums at her siblings particularly her sister Sitara who used to do all her work. She knows well that she has her father’s back that is why she is very daring and carefree. All she does is to take care of her beauty all day. Both Chanda and Sitara are shown poles apart.
Chanda is a very outgoing girl, she right in presence of everyone sneaks out of the mehndi function to meet her boyfriend Shabby. Well, it seems so daring and weird that she meets him openly at the street which happens to be her neighborhood too at an open-top jeep, and then she has the guts to go with him at a dinner leaving her mother and sister, in the middle of the function. Sitara and her mother were extremely worried about her. Sitara has an idea of what her sister is up to.
Sitara is noticing that Chanda spends most of her time on the phone and her mother has caught her talking at a phone in the middle of the night. She also tries to question her about her absence in the function, she tries her best to cover it up but her mother is cautious now. Then there is another character Danish and his father who happens to be Sitara’s cousin and chachu. Danish seems to be interested in Sitara but his father seems a good for nothing kinda fellow who always borrow money from his brother just to waste it on gambling.
Its second episode begins when Shabby is telling his parents to go to Chanda’s house and ask her hand from his family. Shabby’s parents are very cunning they are not interested in making Chanda their daughter in law but they also do not want to make their son unhappy or they do not want to spoil their relationship with him so they are posing in front of Shabby that they are very happy and excited but in actual they have some other plans. It is very smart of them as they are not going to spoil their relations with their son but will never let Chanda become Shabby’s bride.
Shabby’s parents were so indecent and mean that they suddenly visit Chanda’s place and there they have threatened Chanda’s mother to refuse this proposal herself and to take the whole blame of refusing them on herself. Chanda’s mother is shocked to hear this and later she feels so embarrassed when Shabby’s mother tells her that she has no control over her daughter she is meeting her son openly in public.
To be honest, we are feeling so annoyed to see Chanda’s mother hiding this very important thing from Chanda’s father just because she does not want her father to think about her daughter as she is his pride at the cost of risking her daughter’s life and reputation, it is evident that they are not respectable people but Chanda is still so persistent and eager to marry Shabby.
Chanda has also started blaming her mother for going against her wishes and deliberately trying to avoid Shabby’s parents. Well in real Shabby’s cunning parents have very smartly put the whole blame on Chanda’s mother. They have gone to the extent of lying to their son that Chanda’s mother has refused their proposal! Well, here it has become very important for Chanda’s mother to take her husband in full confidence and to tell her all about what his dear daughter is up to, hiding it from her husband is going to create great troubles for her.
Well, the drama seems to be a good start of a romantic and family-oriented story. It completed its first six-episode and Let’s wait to find out more next week.
