Islamabad: Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabar Zaidi, approved the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for revenue reform with increasing revenue shortfall for the second consecutive year, went on vacation on medical grounds
Shabbar Zaidi took office again on January 21 after a two-week vacation due to medical malpractice, in his absence, a 22nd-grade officer from the Inland Revenue Service took over as acting chairman FBR.
When contacted, Chairman FBR told that he was in Karachi, saying that he was "on vacation and under treatment", when asked further he said he was unspecified. Depending on the doctor's advice on Monday, they are on vacation and for how long.
On the other hand, sources at the FBR said that before going on leave, Shabbar Zaidi's advisor, Finance Minister Hafiz Sheikh and senior finance ministry officials had been informed that they were going on leave indefinitely.
However, Secretary Finance Nadeem Kamran Baloch told that he did not know that Shabbar Zaidi was on leave for an indefinite period, adding that he was told that he was on leave because of his brother's illness. '.
According to sources, Shabbar Zaidi has not come to the office for the past few days and has not seen any case within 10 days after returning to the office after vacation.

It is to be noted that despite numerous measures and high inflation rate, the revised target for this fiscal year's revenue collection has failed to reach 23 trillion 67 billion with a huge gap of Rs 2 trillion 87 billion.
It is also to be noted that the technical team of the World Monetary Fund will review the FBR's revenue collection performance from next week.
Due to lack of revenue collection and lack of progress on corrective measures, Advisor Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has asked the FBR to send all officers who are not performing, but no officer has been exchanged so far.
In addition to this, the Adviser Finance also asked the Chairman FBR to inform the Revenue Collection, Registration of traders, especially in the sales tax department of major traders to plan for registration.
In addition, the fake refund scandal is another case in which the FBR has not yet taken any action against the officers involved.
