Edhi Foundation has asked Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to return home to Pakistani students stranded in Wuhan, China.
In a letter to Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Edhi Foundation said that the representative of the institution is in touch with students and that students trapped in China are 'mentally disturbed and anxious'.
Edhi Foundation wrote in a letter to the Foreign Minister that 'students also face malnutrition and the majority of them are students who have not been affected by the virus and we can save them'.
It is thought that the Coronavirus killed more than 800 citizens in Wuhan city of China and more than 37,000 people have been infected so far while the city has been locked down since January 23.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi's letter states that other countries, including the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and India, have withdrawn their citizens from Wuhan.
Citing the above-mentioned countries, Faisal Edhi has requested the Foreign Minister to 'allow Pakistani students to return to Pakistan and also provide space for quarantine until the virus is over'.
The letter states that the Foundation will contact the airline to arrange flights to bring the students back to Pakistan as soon as they are allowed.
It is to be remembered that Pakistan had temporarily suspended its flights to China on January 29 following the death of the Coronavirus in Wuhan, China, but had resumed three days later and the Pakistanis in China had returned.
The students in Wuhan were not brought back despite the process of returning Pakistanis from China and are still there.
Private TV Geo News reported in a report quoted Pakistani ambassador to China Nakhmana Hashmi as saying that she could not reach Pakistani students in Wuhan due to lack of permission.
The Prime Minister's Assistant Special Health Officer, Dr Zafar Mirza, assured that the situation was being reviewed by the students and their families.
In a statement on the social networking site, he said, "My dear students and their family members in China! "We are discussing the situation at a high level and we will make the best decision by looking at the Coronavirus."
They said, 'Make sure you are our own and we are taking care'.
It is believed that the number of Coronavirus deaths in China has exceeded 800 and the number of victims has exceeded 37 thousand, while in other countries outside China, Coronavirus has been reported and first in the Philippines Citizens were confirmed dead due to the Coronavirus.
