Eat peppers, save lives
People who eat chilies have a significantly lower mortality rate due to diseases such as heart attack, swelling of the veins, and stroke.
Rome: After a long and careful study, scientists have announced that people who eat regular peppers have significantly lower rates of heart attacks, swelling of the veins, and stroke than those who do not. They don't use peppers at all or do very little.
According to a report published in the latest issue of the medical research journal "Journal of the American College of Cardiology", the study was conducted in Italy, which lasted for 8 years. It was attended by 22,811 locals, almost equal in number, both men and women aged 35 and over.
During the study, all volunteers took a close look at mortgage and eating routines and were filled with questionnaires on various occasions, in which they were specifically asked about the use of peppers in food. At the end of the study, it was found that people who ate peppers at least four times a week were 44 percent less likely to die of heart attack than those who did not eat peppers, while the mortality rate for vein swelling or stroke was 61 percent.
However, the results of this study, Dr. Mariolora Bonaccio, warn that these results do not necessarily mean that eating chili reduces the risk of stroke or heart attack, but rather reduces the risk of death. He is affiliated with the Neuromed Mediterranean Neurological Institute in Podsley, Italy.
In the past, there have been two studies in the United States and China that have shown similar effects on eating regular peppers. The aforementioned study showed that European nations also receive the same benefits from regular consumption of peppers as Americans and Chinese.
It is not yet known exactly what causes the benefits of the peppers, but experts believe that in almost all types of peppers there is a compound called "Capsaicin" that is used in the "peppers" Causes Chinese studies have shown that capsaicin not only reduces cholesterol but also prevents a gene from functioning in the veins.
