Karachi Press Club has announced the honorary membership of the club to Sir Vivian Richards, along with former West Indian captain and Peshawar Zalmi captain Darien Sammy on services for restoring world cricket in Pakistan.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the governing body of the Karachi Press Club, chaired by the club's president Imtiaz Khan Farran.
During the meeting, it was decided to give Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy and former great West Indian batsman Vivian Richards the honorary membership of the club on services for the restoration of world cricket in the country.
It is to be remembered that the Government of Pakistan has also announced to give Darren Sammy the honorary citizenship of Pakistan on the services of restoring world cricket in Pakistan which will be given to him at a ceremony held on March 23 this year.
In addition, Qamar Ahmed, the first journalist to have 400 test matches live in the world, and in recognition of the services of renowned sports journalist Qamar Ahmed, decided to give him a life member of the Press Club.
