ISLAMABAD: Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan says that eco-friendly access to affordable energy is the right of all, reducing the cost of electricity over time, expects to invest $ 100 billion in the energy sector.
According to the details, Minister for energy, Omar Ayub Khan, while addressing the seminar said that the government has given special importance to the sector of the energy, the economy and development of the country are dependent on the sector of energy.
The Minister said that 75 percent of electricity is made from imported fuel today, a heavy exchange is being used to obtain energy sources, focusing on cheap energy mix so that industries get cheaper electricity, electricity rates are being reduced over time.
Omar Ayyub Khan said that 25% by 2025 and 35% by 2030 will get access to hydroelectric resources. In addition to renewable energy projects, these initiatives will provide employment opportunities and strengthen the economy.
He said that environment of investment in Pakistan has been favourable, there are innumerable investment opportunities in the energy sector, steps have been taken to streamline the economy, new energy policies are being pursued the betterment of the energy sector, there are opportunities to an investment of $ 100 billion in the energy sector.
