Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani said that even if cuts were made to the board due to coronavirus, it would ensure the best possible protection of the players' interests.

In a special video message, Chairman PCB said, "I want to assure everyone that as long as we can, we will ensure your interests are protected."

He said that players' salaries and payments will not be deducted unnecessarily, contracts are awarded on the basis of performance and that will continue.

He said that central contracts are not in our power and selectors, etc. will tell us what contract should be given.

He said that unnecessary staff will not be kept and minor changes will be made as we are trying to reorganize the structure of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

He said that as many retired international cricketers are getting their pensions, the domestic players' contract has not been changed and our main aim at the moment is to ensure the safety of the players and our staff as the board works without staff. Can't do and without players we are nothing.

"We have to take care of the former players. If anyone is in trouble, contact us and we will try to help them as much as possible.

Chairman PCB said that in the last two to three years if the former players had health problems and needed help, we would help them financially and always will.

"Even if we make the deduction, we have to make sure that the ex-players do not face problems and find better ways to perform the tasks effectively," he said.

It is to be noted that due to the Coronavirus, sports activities around the world are closed and PCBs are expected to deduct players' salaries or allowances from any matches or activities.
