Dubai: Pakistan's famous wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has made it into the top ten batsmen for the first time thanks to his consistent stellar performance in T20 cricket. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ranking of T20 players, according to which Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has moved up five places to tenth position. Rizwan's rating points have risen to 640 thanks to his impressive performances in the T20 series against South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Rizwan's performance in T20 cricket this year has been excellent and in 10 T20 cricket matches this year he has scored 530 runs at an average of 106 thanks to one century and five half-centuries. However, national team captain Babar Azam's batting ranking has dropped a notch as he could not play a more impressive game in the series against Zimbabwe. Babar Azam scored 119 runs in 4 matches of the T20 series and dropped one place from second to third.
England's David Milan remains at number one with 892 rating points, while Australia's Aaron Finch has moved up one place to number two. New Zealand's David Conway is fourth, India's Virat Kohli is fifth, South Africa's Van der Dawson is sixth, India's Lokesh Rahul is seventh, Australia's Glenn Maxwell is eighth and New Zealand's Martin Guptill is ninth. There has been no change in the top ten in the bowlers' rankings and no Pakistani bowler is part of the list of top 10 bowlers.
In the bowling rankings, South Africa's Tabriz Shamsi is at the first position while Afghanistan's Rashid Khan is at the second position and Australia's Ashton Eger is at the third position. Among Pakistani bowlers, Haris Rauf has moved up 17 places to 21st and Mohammad Hasnain has moved up 52 places to 65th. Along with Hasnain, league spinner Usman Qadir is also ranked 65th, who moved up 12 places to secure the position.
The national team has lost two important points in the team rankings but managed to retain its fourth position. The national team had to make a clean sweep in the series to maintain 262 points but lost one match and the national team lost two points. After defeating Pakistan in one match, the Zimbabwean team has moved up one place to the 11th position in the rankings.
