PSL 5: Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first
In the second match of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy has won the toss and invited the Karachi Kings to bat first.
"Wicket looks good for the batting and we will try to chase down the target by limiting the Karachi Kings to a low run," Darren Sammy said.
"Our foreign players include me, Tom Benton, Liam Dawson and Liam Livingston," he said.
The second match of the day will be played between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultan today.
It should be noted that the colourful start of the Pakistan Super League started with a magnificent opening ceremony, after which defending champion Quetta Gladiators defeated Islamabad United by 3 wickets in the first match.
The match, which will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi, starts at 3 pm, where the fans are heading to the stadium to boost the spirit of their favourite team.
The Karachi Kings team has the advantage of being the home ground, while the Zalmi team, led by Darren Sammy, is once again committed to delivering better performance in the event.
It should be noted that Karachi Kings have not won any PSL title till date whereas Peshawar Zalmi is the winner of PSL 2.
On the other hand, today's second match will be played between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at 8 pm.
Qalandars will benefit from the home ground in this match played at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, but Multan's team is also keen to win.
Speaking of both teams, Lahore Qalandars have not been good enough to perform in all four seasons so far and have not reached a single playoff stage.
Similarly, the team of Multan Sultans became part of the PSL from the third session, but so far they have failed to take the title.
This time, however, both teams are determined to win the title with the new captain.
Sohail is leading the Lahore Qalandars while Multan Sultan's captain is Shaan Masood.
