World-renowned all-rounder Ben Stokes, who made England the world champion, was named Wisden's best player of the year.
Cricket bible's Wisden Cricketers' Almanack announced the names of the players of the year.
England's all-rounder Ben Stokes was named the men's cricketer of the year, with the loss of Virat Kohli to the prestigious title which has been his name for the last three years.
Wisden named Australian cricketer Ellyse Perry the best female cricketer.
Ben Stokes made England the world champion for the first time by playing brilliant innings in the 2019 World Cup final, while also presenting the best game in the Ashes series against Australia.
Stokes, in particular, played unbeaten innings of 48 and 135 in the Ashes Test played at Headingley, leading his team to a memorable victory of a wicket.
It should be remembered that Ben Stokes was also named the Cave Field Sobers Trophy of the Year Cricketer at the ICC Awards.
In his statement, Wisden Almanac said that after Stokes made his team the World Cup champion, Headingley played two excellent innings in the test, which led to the end of Virat Kohli's 3-year monopoly.
Ellyse Perry was named the best female cricketer of the year, as well as a list of the five best cricketers of the year along with Jofra Archer, Pete Cummins, Simon Harper, and Marcie Labusheen.
He is the first to receive this double award, while fourth overall after Ken Williamson, Virat Kohli and Kumar Sangakkara.
