Islamabad United won the first victory in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 and also won valuable points by defeating the Multan Sultans by 8 wickets in the third match of the third day.
Shadab Khan won the toss in the fifth match of the tournament played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and invited the Multan Sultans team to beat Lahore Qalandars on the same day.
The Multan Sultans' innings started with captain Shaan Masood and James Vince, Shaan Masood scoring 21 runs on a total score of 41.

In pursuit of the target, Ronak and Colin Monroe started aggressively for Islamabad and completed the half-century of the team in the fifth over and scored 92 runs in the first wicket partnership.
Colin Munro scored a superb 50 off 32 balls, including three boundaries and four sixes.
David Malan supported the runner and made a half-century contribution as both batsmen got the chance but did not allow the pace to fall.
The runner scored a superb 74-run knock but was caught out at a time when only 2 runs were needed to win.
Islamabad United got the desired target in the fifth ball of the 17th over for the loss of 8 wickets.
David Malan scored an unbeaten 35 and Colin Ingram scored one.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans scored valuable points in their opening matches but Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta in their second match after which Islamabad United won Multan. The Sultans were eliminated in the second match and the first victory was summoned.
It may be recalled that in the opening match, Islamabad United was defeated by Quetta Gladiators by 3 wickets.
On the other hand, the Multan Sultans won their first match and easily defeated the Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets to gain valuable points.
