Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 14-member team led by Mominul Haque for the first test match of the first leg of the two-match series against Pakistan.
The BCB has also released the names of 14 players who will come to Pakistan and play a Test after the announcement of their team by Pakistan, while veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is not part of the Test squad.
The Bangladesh team also includes senior players Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Soumya Sarkar, who came to Pakistan last month for the T20 tournament.
Mominul Haque (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Saif Hassan, Najam-ul-Hassan Shantou, Mahmudullah, Mohammad Mithun, Liton Das, Tej-ul-Islam, Naeem Hassan, Ibadat Hussain, Abu jayed Chaudhry Rahi, Alamin Hussein, Rubel Hussain, Soumya Sarkar.
The first test of the series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin in Rawalpindi on February 7, and the Bangladesh team will depart from Dhaka on February 4 for Islamabad.
On the other hand, Pakistan has also announced a 16-member team led by Azhar Ali, in which Fawad Alam has been re-joined and the return of all-rounder Fahim Ashraf.
Pakistan selected Kashif Bhatti and Usman Shinwari for the Test series against Sri Lanka were not included in the series.
Chief Selector and Head Coach Misbah-ul-Haq said the selection committee selected the most suitable players for the first Test match against Bangladesh.
Remember that the Bangladesh team visited Pakistan last month and played a series of three T20Is in which Pakistan took a 2-0 lead while the third match was rained out.
According to the schedule, Bangladesh team will visit Pakistan in April in the second phase of the series in which a Test and an ODI will be played.
At the end of the Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh team will visit Pakistan again in April, where the only ODI of the series will be played in Karachi on April 3.
After that, the two teams will play at the National Stadium in Karachi for the second Test match of the series from April 5 to 9.
It is to be noted that the Bangladeshi government had expressed reservations regarding sending the team to Pakistan, however, the chairman had agreed with the PCB and other officials to negotiate with the BCB and the Pakistan Super League. Due to the series was split into two stages
