Pakistan's young fast-bowler Naseem Shah, who has been selected for the tour of Australia, has raised the alarm for the Australian team by showing outstanding bowling in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Pakistan Cricket Board has also added young fast bowlers Musa Khan and Naseem Shah to the Test squad for the tour of Australia.
Naseem Shah, 16, has never represented Pakistan in international cricket but he is known for his fast bowling and bouncers in domestic cricket.
Even before leaving for Australia, Naseem Shah proved his choice and presented the form.
The fast bowler, who represented Central Punjab in Pakistan's best domestic tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, strengthened the team's position by destroying Sindh's batting line with their impressive bowling.
During the match in Faisalabad, the Central Punjab team was bowled out for 313 after playing first, with Ahmed Shahzad, Kamran Akmal and Fahim Ashraf scoring half-centuries.
In reply, Fawad Alam played an innings of 92 and Saad Ali played 81, but even then Team Sindh fell to just 256 runs, which led to Naseem Shah.
The 16-year-old fast bowler took six wickets for 78 runs while bowling well and was instrumental in strengthening his team's position.
It should be noted that for the first time in any current first-class season, any bowler has taken 5 wickets in an innings.
Naseem Shah, who represents Central Punjab, has so far taken 15 wickets in four matches of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Talking to PCB later, Naseem Shah said that taking 6 wickets before the tour of Australia has increased my confidence and I am feeling very good.
He said that before the match Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis had talked and directed me to do my best in long spells and I am happy that I was able to bowl with full speed and swing.
It should be recalled that Misbah-ul-Haq, the head coach and chief selector of the national team, declared Naseem Shah a surprise package for the tour of Australia.
Misbah had said that Naseem Shah is bowling well in domestic cricket in four days and the best part is that every spell he keeps pace with will be supported by the conditions in Australia so we will all support him. I am very happy to have you on the team.
The Pakistani team will begin their campaign against Australia through the T20 series beginning on November 3, after which both teams will face the test series.
