Pakistani Film 'Joyland' Presented at Cannes Festival

Pakistani director, writer and actor Saim Sadiq's short film 'Joyland' was screened at Cannes, the world's largest film festival. Joyland had its world premiere on May 22 and the film crew appeared on the red carpet.

The movie 'Joyland' based on the story of transgender people has not been released in Pakistan yet, it will probably be announced online soon. Producers Sarmad Khoosat and Apoorva Guru Charan's film also stars Ali Junejo, Alina Khan, Safina Jaffery and others.

Prior to the film, Saim Sadiq's 2019 film "Darling" was screened at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals in addition to Cannes, and its story revolves around the problems of transgender people. Apart from the premiere of 'Joyland', actresses Sania Saeed and Sarwat Gilani also showcased their fashion at the Cannes Film Festival and shared their photos on Instagram.

Apart from Pakistani actresses, several Indian actresses including Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Hana Khan are also present at the Cannes Festival. The Cannes Festival, the world's largest film festival, began on May 17 and will run until May 28.
