United Nations ratifies US-Taliban agreement

New York: United Nations Security Council ratifies US-Taliban agreement, the resolution presented by united stated unanimously approved. 

According to news the resolution, called for the Taliban to continue to build confidence on the Afghan government, stating that the Afghan president signed a release order to the release of Taliban prisoners.

Meanwhile, Afghan media say the release of Taliban prisoners will be followed by biometrics, prisoners will have to be assured of not fighting again, and prisoners will be released under the US-Afghan agreement.

According to Afghan media, the release of Taliban prisoners will begin on March 14 in Parwan Prison, according to the agreement, 1500 Afghan Taliban prisoners will be released.

Yesterday, Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen said in his statement that the list of five thousand Afghan Taliban prisoners has been given to the US with the condition that Afghan Taliban prisoners be handed over in the deserted area, The Taliban delegation will check the names in jail given for release.

On the other hand, after the successful negotiations between the United States and the Taliban, the withdrawal of US forces from the civil war-torn country of Afghanistan is finally beginning.

Colonel Sonny Leggett, a spokesman for US forces in Afghanistan, said in the statement that Under the agreement, the number of US troops is being conditionally reduced, there are twelve to thirteen thousand US troops deployed in Afghanistan, Initially, the number of US forces will be reduced to 8600.
