Unidentified Assailants Attack TV Host Iqrar Ul Hassan in Lahore

Leading Pakistani TV host Syed Iqrar Ul Hassan was attacked by 'unidentified persons' in the Defense area of Lahore and also opened fire in the air.
Iqrar Ul Hassan shared a picture of his injured face on Twitter and said that the attackers fired and fled. "Unidentified men attacked me in front of the K Block police station in DHA Lahore and then opened fire and fled," he said.

Lahore CCPO Omar Sheikh took notice of the attack and issued orders for the immediate arrest of the attackers. According to a statement issued by his office, CCPO Lahore said, "Legal action will be taken against those involved in this incident." Following the orders of the Lahore Police Chief, SP Lahore Cantt Saad Aziz took immediate action and arrested some persons.
SP Saad Aziz said that the incident took place near Wateen Chowk and so far, Defense Police have arrested four persons. A police team has been tasked with arresting the remaining attackers and more details will be released soon, he said. Later, Punjab Chief Minister's digital media focal person Azhar Mashwani announced on Twitter that seven people allegedly involved in the incident have been arrested.

Incident happened around 4:45 pm today in DHA area Lahore.

"The police are investigating the matter and further action will be taken accordingly," he wrote. SP Saad Aziz said after the tweet that the suspects were attending a wedding party there and fired on Iqrar Ul Hassan for making a video. Police said they had obtained CCTV footage of the incident and a case would be registered against the attackers under anti-terrorism laws.
After the police operation, Iqrar Ul Hassan said in another tweet that he was fine.
"Police and DHA security informed their respective control rooms about the aerial firing of the attackers. The recordings were seized by the police. The attackers are being prosecuted under anti-terrorism laws," he said.
