Islamabad: The government has decided to appoint Khalid Jawed Khan as Attorney General.
According to details, Special Assistant for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government has decided to appoint Khalid Jawed Khan as Attorney General.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said in a message on the social networking site Twitter that the government respects all constitutional institutions, respect for constitutional institutions is very important to us, the rule of law is the top priority of the government.
It may be recalled that the Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan had resigned from his position yesterday. In the resignation sent to the President, he said that I am separating myself from the post on the demand of Pakistan Bar Council, For the past year and a half, he has been performing all the duties and responsibilities.
Remember that two days ago during a presidential reference hearing against Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, the bench of the Supreme Court ordered the Attorney General to give written evidence or apologize for the allegations against the judges of the Supreme Court.
The government has also submitted an answer in the Supreme Court on Justice Qazi Faiz Isa case. Federal Law Minister Farah Naseem and Shahzad Akbar reject the statement of the Attorney General in the case, the answer stated that the oral statement given by Anwar Mansoor Khan was against the will of the government. The federal government respects and honour the judges of the Supreme Court.
