The Economy Has Been Weakened by Past Wrong Decisions, Prime Minister

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan has full facilities for power generation but wrong decisions have damaged the country's industrial development.

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Gilgit-Baltistan where he reviewed the work of Diamer Bhasha Dam. The Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of work on Diamer Bhasha Dam. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed and Federal Minister Faisal Wawda were also present on the occasion.

Later, addressing a public gathering in Chilas, PM Imran Khan said that Diamer Bhasha Dam is the third largest dam in Pakistan. Pakistan has full facilities to generate electricity but wrong decisions have damaged the industrial development of the country. Instead of preferring to generate electricity from oil, the cost of electricity has affected industries while we fear that a flood-like situation may not arise in the future.

PM Imran Khan said that it was unfortunate for Pakistan that short term decisions were taken, we made wrong decisions in the past due to which the economy kept weakening, our currency came under pressure due to devaluation of the rupee, Rs 20 billion. Deficits We inherited, when the money goes out, the current account deficit increases.

The Prime Minister said that investment in human beings, justice and rule of law lead to progress, nations develop which make difficult decisions, China's success is to make long-term plans, China has a 30- to 30-year plan. He further added that due to Corona, unemployment has increased and importing goods has increased inflation.

On the other hand, Asim Bajwa, Special Assistant to PM Imran Khan for Information, said in his tweet that mobilization on Diamer-Bhasha Dam is a historic milestone. The dam will irrigate 1.2 million acres of land, while the project will provide 4,500 MW of affordable electricity.
