Riyadh: Saudi government has begun considering plans for setting up a Ladies Driving School, meeting the demands of women based in Mecca.
According to the Saudi website, a plan for setting up a driving school for women in Makkah is under consideration, so far, no investors have come forward in this regard.
According to sources, Regional Director Traffic Police Colonel Fawaz Al-Hashmi has visited the head office of a private company working in the property sector regarding the establishment of Ladies Driving School and discussed various issues.
Sources said that the Regional Director Traffic Police and the Company's Board of Directors were considering the establishment of a driving school for women and the facilities provided and significant progress was also made in this regard.
No date has been set for the expected driving school; it is expected that work on the project will begin soon.
It is to be remembered that after being given permission to women of driving in Saudi Arabia, women living in Mecca are demanding that they are in dire need of a driving school.
Currently, the closest school is in Taif and Jeddah, where admission is difficult if getting admission is more difficult to attend daily classes.
